Mona L. Gitter DVM
Dr Gitter is the founder of our hospital. She is
originally from Atlanta, Ga. where she learned to talk fast and
southern- a very unusual combination. While in veterinary
school, she was selected for the Feline Medicine Award. She
has a special interest in dermatology, feline medicine and
behavior cases. She does see referral cases on behavior
problems. She has competed for the past 15 years in
competition obedience and recently in agility as well. Her
dogs are known for their enthusiastic heeling and love of
obedience. She is very involved in Dog Bite Prevention
programs and volunteers at many demonstrations for
children. She is married to Bruce, an Eli Lilly scientist and
is the mother of Jennifer- a Carmel High School student. Dr Gitter
has created a strong practice philosophy that each pet should
live a long happy life with their own family. As part
of her family, she has "just the right number" of pets- including 3
cats, 6 dogs, and a degus.
